About Intercept:

Charles Woodson’s Intercept is a range of ultra-premium wines sourced from hand-selected regions of California. The football legend channeled the same work ethic and perfectionism he brought to the field to provide world-class wines for sports lovers at an honest price. 

Charles discovered wine after being drafted by the Oakland Raiders in 1998. The Raider’s spring training camp was held in Napa Valley and was Charles’ first time to wine country. As a young man who’d grown up in the Midwest, Charles was floored by the wine culture there. People were swirling and sniffing glasses at lunch, bringing their own bottles to dinner. After an evening dinner with Robert Mondavi, he was officially hooked, and began making barrels of wine on the side. ​

He launched a high-end namesake Napa brand in 2005, TwentyFour by Charles Woodson. After retiring from the NFL, Charles’ fans continued to ask him to create a more accessible line of high-quality wines so they’d could engage with wine themselves. In 2019, he launched Charles Woodson’s Intercept Wines, and in 2020 became the first Black Pro-Football player to achieve national distribution on a wine brand. Even with all his history, Charles says he’s just getting started.
