Smoothies are one of my favorite to-go meals in the morning for breakfast, after a workout, or even for a quick lunch. They’re a great and easy way to pack a lot of essential nutrients into one meal, and at the same time taste amazing. While there are a lot of berry smoothie recipes out there, this one is our family’s favorite personal go-to mixture. There’s something about the brightness from the berries and orange juice, and the coconut yogurt adds the perfect amount of smoothness to the entire cup.
Coconut Berry Smoothie Recipe Benefits:
Beyond the perfect balance of flavors, there are also a lot of health benefits to appreciate in this recipe as well. Bananas, although high in carbohydrates and natural sugars, are also the perfect way to naturally boost your energy first thing in the morning. Bananas are also known for their balance of potassium and vitamin C, which is something all of our bodies need more than ever.
The berries in this smoothie are lower in sugar and are packed with antioxidants. They compliment the chia seeds in this recipe as well to give your digestive system a rush of fiber to aid in overall weight loss. These berries go very well with the SO Delicious Strawberry Banana Coconut Milk Yogurt alternative. Dairy can sometimes cause inflammation in our systems, so using the SO Delicious Yogurt is the perfect alternative!
Another helpful yet optional ingredient in this recipe are the two scoops of vanilla whey protein powder. Coconut Berry Smoothie Recipe:
Coconut Berry Protein Smoothie
Ingredients
- 1 Banana
- 1/2 cup Strawberries
- 1/2 cup Blueberries
- 2 scoops Vanilla Whey Protein Powder (optional)
- 1 pkg SO Delicious Coconut Milk Strawberry Banana Yogurt
- 2 tbsp Chia Seeds
- 1/4 cup Orange Juice
- 1/3 cup Ice
Instructions
- Take a blender container and add: 1 Banana, 1/2 cup Strawberries, 1/2 cup Blue Berries, 2 scoops of Vanilla Whey Protein Powder (optional), 1 pkg SO Delicious Coconut Milk Strawberry Banana Yogurt, 2 tbsp Chia Seeds, 1/4 cup of Orange Juice, 1/3 cup of Ice.
- Blend smoothie ingredients on high until the chunks of fruit are gone and it's smooth. Pour it into a glass and enjoy!
