Salt Lake City, Utah is truly a place that will make you appreciate nature’s beauty. Each and every season I visit this city, I fall in love with her beauty all over again, or discover new reasons to love Salt Lake City, Utah. Here are my five reasons why you should visit Salt Lake City, UT:
Reason 5 – Visit the Great Salt Lake!

When you visit Salt Lake City, UT, you can visit the Great Salt Lake! This is the largest salt lake in the western hemisphere, and five times saltier than the ocean! Even if you cannot swim, you will not sink because of the salt density in the the great salt lake. This lake is similar to the Dead Sea, and has often been referred to as America’s Dead Sea.
Reason 4 – You Can See the Famous Rocky Mountains Near Salt Lake City!

By visiting Salt Lake City, UT you can explore the Rocky Mountains! Growing up on the east coast, it’s very rare to see this type of terrain. However, if you’re in Salt Lake City, UT, you will be situated at the base of this famous mountain range. This makes for great photos and amazon memories!
Reason 3: The Sundance Film Festival is Near Salt Lake City!

During winter, many celebrities leave sunny California, and make their way to Park City, Utah for the Sundance festival. Park City is driving distance from Salt Lake City, UT. This festival really sets the tone for film and television for the year. This festival is especially appealing to documentary film makers, and independent screen writers. Many films have debuted at this festival and were later nominated by the Academy for an Oscar, or were bought by famous TV companies such as Netflix, HBO, Showtime, Amazon, and many more. Reason 2: They Have Bison Living on an Island!

Looking for a beautiful place to catch a sunset? Visiting Antelope Island near Salt Lake City just before sunset will allow you to discover colors you’ve never seen on a paint palette. Admittedly, the first time I took a trip to this island in the middle of the afternoon, I was a bit disappointed at the lack of activities, but the view was breathtaking. A few months later, I decided to give this island another try, but later in the evening, and I grew to love this place. On this island, they also have roaming bison. It’s not everyday one can say they have seen one of these majestic creatures up close! Today, there is a herd of around 550 bison on the island.
Reason 1: Grab A Pair of Skis for the Best Powder in the World!

If you visit Salt Lake City, Park City is a MUST for your to-do list, especially in the winter. Utah natives are all very proud of the broad range of outdoor activities here, especially when it snows. Some here have even declared it “The Greatest Snow on Earth”, and placing this on their license plates. If you’re in the Cottonwood Canyons, this area is known as one of the snowiest places in the world, with Alta averaging 551 inches of snow annually. Snow density here is also 8.5 percent, creating the perfect bed to float your skis through powder.
