This grilled chicken wings recipe is one my family has been making the same way for over 15 years, and it’s stood the test of time for a reason. My husband is the grill master in our house, and these wings are his go-to. They’re simple, flavorful, and never overcomplicated. This is a less-is-more recipe that lets good seasoning, proper grilling technique, and smoky flavor shine. It’s a dependable base you can keep classic and dry, or build on with sauces and heat depending on the occasion.

STEP 3: Bring to Temperature – Remove wings from the refrigerator and let them sit at room temperature for 15-20 minutes while you preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Clean and lightly oil the grill grate if needed.

STEP 4: Grill & Serve – Using tongs, place wings on the indirect heat side of the grill. Grill for 20-25 minutes, turning occasionally, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) at the soft spot near the bone. Grilling Chicken Tips (Straight from Our Grill Master)

  • Let wings rest briefly before serving

Allow grilled chicken wings to cool completely before storing. Transfer to an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 4 days.To freeze, transfer to a freezer-safe airtight container or bag. Wings can be frozen for up to 3 months. For reheating, warm wings in a 375°F (190°C) oven on a wire rack for 12-15 minutes, in an air fryer for 5-7 minutes, or briefly on the grill over medium heat until heated through. For best texture, thaw frozen wings overnight in the refrigerator before reheating.

Cooking wings for over fifteen years definitely means you have the method down perfectly by now. Using sazon for that golden color is a clever touch that makes them look much more appetizing on the platter.

This made me really want to fire up the grill. The marinade sounds simple but full of flavour, and I appreciate that you explained timing and heat so clearly. Wings are easy to mess up, so the guidance was useful.

We love to grill chicken wings and marinading them before you grill them really makes them taste so good, especially when you add that dry rub. I like to use hickory wood; it also adds an extra taste to the wings. These look so delicious, I really like the way you grilled them, you really have to make sure to turn them every few minutes as you stated!
