FYI – Did you know you could detox your body by drinking “pink water” according to some experts?! It also makes for a great workout drink! Well maybe not literal pink water, but your body can actually benefit by adding just a bit of unrefined salt to your drinking water.
Isn’t Salt Bad For You?
Now, I’m sure the thought of adding salt to your water seems strange. Especially, since we are told salt contributes to heart issues. However, there’s a difference between table salt, and unrefined salt.
Through my research, I discovered table salt is HIGHLY processed. Whenever we eat processed foods, the properties within the food changes, sometimes losing most of its benefits. When manufacturers produce table salt, they add anti-clumping agents, aluminum derivatives, fluoride, and much more! Once all of these man made chemicals are combined, the salt is heated up 1200 degrees Fahrenheit, which causes it to lose many of its natural minerals. Salt in its natural state actually helps to alkaline your body, and gives you natural electrolytes.
Why I Drink Water with Himalayan Pink Salt
Himalayan Pink Salt contains over 84 trace minerals that are healthy for our bodies, and contains a natural source of iodine. Pink salt also has the following benefits that can promote healthy hair, skin, nails, and much more:
- Natural detox & prevents water retention
- Creates an electrolyte balance
- Balances Your Body’s pH and increases hydration
- Lowers blood pressure (since nothing man made is in the salt, your body doesn’t work as hard to counteract the unnatural chemicals)
- Removes chemicals from your body and regulates water content both inside and outside of cells
