It’s true, girls just wanna have fun! However, if you’re practicing social distancing, and you’re unable to hang with your girlfriends like you used to, what do you do? Don’t call them and reminisce about the good times of the past. Grab your laptop or tablet and get creative! The list below contains some unique ideas that have come to my mind over the past few weeks. I recommend planning some of these activities in advance and setting up a Zoom link for your girlfriends to connect and see each other virtually. If you have any fun ideas of your own, please do share as well in the comments below!
1. Vote & Take a Virtual Cooking Class from Food Network
Did you know that if you download the Food Network app, you can sign-up for live or on-demand cooking classes? By subscribing to the app, your girls can vote on a recipe they want to learn together, buy the ingredients in advance, and have one person stream the class for all to see at the same time. To make this event even more memorable, why not order cute little custom aprons for your girls from Etsy.
2. Take a Virtual Dance Class Together!
There are a lot of free tutorials on various websites online such as YouTube or DancePlug. So why not have some fun and pick a new dance to learn together? Each individual can setup their camera on Zoom so they can see each other, and one person can stream the class for all to try!
3. Play an Online Virtual Escape Room Together!
I’m not sure if you’ve heard of an “escape room” before, but they are so much fun! Whether in-person or virtually, they are a great way for your friends to put their problem-solving skills to use and solve a fun complex puzzle/mystery. Typically at the beginning of the game you are placed in a room, given a storyline, and must solve a sequence of puzzles or clues to escape from the room. Many websites offer these virtually now by using video conference technology such as Mystery Escape Room.
4. Workout Together!
As part of the #selfcare trends we’ve seen throughout this pandemic, why not pick 1, 2, or even 3 days a week to workout together. If you plan this activity as a larger group, everyone can keep each other accountable, and there can be various times for different schedules!
5. Sign-Up for an Airbnb Experience!
Airbnb now offers a variety of international online activities for groups that may be enjoyable for your girlfriends! This new service is called Airbnb Experiences. Hosts from all over the world will indulge you in history, culture, art, music, food, entertainment, and more activities!
6. Have a Craft Night!
Explore your creativity together and sign-up for the free service Skill Share or purchase a Groupon. Skill Share is an online platform that allows you to take various artistic classes such as painting, photography, animation and more! If you decide to not use an online course for your craft night, why not explore the many DIY craft activities on Pinterest until you find one of interest for your girlfriends!?
7. Take an Online Nail Art Class Together!
Many of us miss going to the nail salon due to social distancing restrictions. Why not send your girls a special nail care package, have them pick their favorite colors and join an online nail art class over Zoom?
8. Host a Virtual Movie Night!
Why not host a virtual movie night?! To get creative with your invitations, you could mail each girl a movie night care package that includes a bag of popcorn, candy, and a movie ticket as an invitation. Each girl can wear their comfy pajamas, grab a few snacks, and join the watch party over Zoom!
9. Order Brunch In!
If all of your girls live in the same city, why not support local businesses, and order brunch from your favorite brunch spot and have brunch together online using Zoom? That way you can still support your local community, brunch traditions continue to live on, and you could have fun making creative brunch cocktails together as well!
10. Craft Your Signature Drink Online!
Skillshare currently has a fun interactive course that allows you to explore your own palate, with the end result being the creation of your own signature cocktail! For making this a fun night with the girls, I recommend sending a supply list of items in advance to your invitees such as ice, a shaker, and drinking glass. To put a fun twist on things, have each girl exchange recipes at the end of the 30 minute course to try another person’s cocktail and share recipes.
I haven’t seen my friends in so long. I would love to put together a virtual girls night!

These are such great ideas! I’ve been really missing my girls over the past months. I’ll have to virtually get us together to try some of these!
This looks really good. I wish I would have go it before my birthday.
These are just such fantastic ideas! Not just for using when we are all staying home while COVID 19 is around, but also so great for using with friends or family that may live a LONG way away. This is making technology work for you in ways where you can still stay in touch and have some good fun. Such a well-timed post with such a wonderful range of fab activities.
working out together seems fun to me! I love that. i used to have a workout buddy before, and we really pushed it each to the limits. i miss those moments!
Those are all really good ideas. My favorite one would probably be the virtual escape rooms, that sounds fun.
