BBQ Chicken Pizza is one of our family’s favorite meals to make on a Friday night, with a good line-up of shows and movies. It’s the perfect comfort snack that’s so easy to make and addictive for anyone who loves all things barbecue! The star of this dish is the Jack Daniel’s Seasoned Pulled Chicken. It compliments the Sweet Baby Ray’s Barbecue Sauce perfectly, along with the other toppings listed below for this recipe. If you’re looking for the best BBQ chicken pizza, search no further as I will share tips and this amazing recipe.
Homemade Pizza Tips:
Use a Pizza Dough Made with 00 Flour
One rule I swear by to make the best homemade pizza is to invest in a good dough. After taking a few classes from local Italians, and experimenting with various types of flour (All Purpose, Bread, Whole Wheat, and even Self-Rising), I discovered that double zero or 00 flour creates a far more superior dough and the perfect pizza crust. Once you use 00 flour for making your pizza dough, you will never want to use any other flour again! If 00 flour is hard to find in your local grocery store, you can order some here from Amazon. You can find my full recipe for homemade pizza dough here on the blog.
Prep All Ingredients Before Baking Your Pizza
Another tip I’ve learned over the years is to prep all ingredients before baking your pizza. For this recipe, that includes cooking the bacon, onions, and chicken ahead of time. I also don’t believe in prepackaged shredded cheeses. Take a few minutes to grate your mozzarella and parmesan cheeses by hand. Trust me, you will taste the difference!
Use a Thin Layer of BBQ Sauce For Your BBQ Chicken Pizza
The recipe below only calls for a 1/3 cup of barbecue sauce. Our favorite BBQ sauce to use for this recipe is Sweet Baby Ray’s Original Barbecue Sauce. When adding your BBQ sauce, it may appear like it’s not a lot of sauce once spread out on a 12″inch pizza dough, but trust me, it’s plenty. If you add too much sauce, your pizza will be heavy and soggy.
Bake At a High Temperature
If your oven allows, try to preheat and bake your pizza dough at 500 degrees F or 260 degrees C. If you enjoy a crispy crust like our family, be sure to follow the directions below to par-bake (pre-bake) the pizza dough before adding toppings.

Equipment
Ingredients
- 12 in Prepared Pizza Dough https://elicitfolio.com/single-post/2020/09/08/the-best-homemade-italian-pizza-crust-recipe/
- 12 oz Jack Daniel's Seasoned Pulled Chicken
- 4 strips Cooked Bacon chopped
- 1/3 cup Sweet Baby Ray's Original Barbeque Sauce
- 1/3 cup Red Onions, sliced
- 1 cup Fresh Mozzarella , grated
- 1/4 cup Fresh Parmesan Cheese, grated
Instructions
- Before cooking this pizza, it's best to prep all of your ingredients ahead of time so you can move quickly during the baking process. To prep, take a pan and cook 4 slices of bacon, and in a separate pan, heat and shred 12 oz of Jack Daniel's Seasoned Pulled Chicken and add a dash of Sweet Baby Rays sauce. (The package may contain 16 oz of pre-cooked chicken, but the entire package may not be needed for this pizza). Once bacon is cooked and crispy, remove from pan, chop and set aside. Using the same bacon sauce pan, sauté 1/3 cup of sliced red onions until until soft. Remove onions from heat once soft. Remove chicken from heat once shredded.
- Now that all toppings are cooked, Preheat oven to 500 F or 260 C. As your oven is preheating, this would be a good time to shred your mozzarella and parmesan cheeses as well and set aside. Once 500 F or 260 C is reached, take your prepared pizza dough and place it on an oiled pizza pan. Pre-bake the pizza dough for around 5-8 minutes. This will help you achieve a crispy crust without a brick oven or pizza stone.
- Remove pre-baked crust from oven when it starts to turn light brown. Spread 1/3 cup of Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ Sauce as the sauce base. Be sure to not over sauce, and keep a thin layer. Next sprinkle freshly grated parmesan cheese for extra flavor, Jack Daniel's Seasoned Pulled Chicken, freshly grated mozzarella, onions, and bacon.
- Bake for about 8 minutes until cheese is melted and crust is browned. Remove from oven, cut, and enjoy!

Lol! Thank you! I wish I could bake one for you! I bought the Jack Daniel’s pulled chicken from Publix. Walmart carries it as well I believe, or you could check Amazon Fresh.
It looks like a palatable delight! What is a OO flour? Is OO a brand or is it a kind of flour?
Hi there! “00” or double zero is a type of flour. It comes in many brands. It’s a bit finer than all-purpose flour, making the crust turn out amazing!
love the shortcut idea of using the meat all ready made up I will have to borrow that idea thanks so much
