Below are a few tips to keep in mind to craft the best tasting martini for this recipe, or any other martini recipe:

  • Use Quality Ingredients: First and foremost, always use premium gin or vodka when crafting a martini. All brands are not created equal. Poor quality can ruin a great recipe.
  • Chill the Ingredients or Glass: If you plan to make a martini, take time to chill the alcohol in advance, or chill the serving glass. An easy hack to quickly chill a martini glass is to fill it with ice and water. From there you can set your martini glass to the side as you start to combine ingredients in a shaker or mixing glass. Serving a cold martini will give you a crisp and refreshing martini.

  • Choose the Right Glassware: Traditional martini glasses are best for serving martinis, but I also opt for the occasional coupe glass as well. On some occassions, I’ve enjoyed using a metal martini glass to prolong the cold temperature of the cocktail. Here are some of my favorite martini or coupe glasses from Amazon:

  • Stir or Shake: This recipe calls for shaking the ingredients over ice. Shaking a martini creates an icy texture and incorporates air. This results in a slight frothy finish. Stirring martinis in a mixing glass creates a gentler, clearer martini, that dilutes with ice slowly. In either method, be mindful not to over-dilute the cocktail mixture.
  • Always Garnish: Be creative and have fun with your garnishes! You could rim the glass for extra flavor and texture, add an accent fruit, leaf, or sprinkle a spice on top for finishing touches. Garnishes are also great because they can enhance a cocktail’s aroma. Depending on the cocktail, I sometimes recommend smoking the ingredients with a lid smoker, similar to my Old Thyme Lemonade recipe.

  • 3 oz Vanilla Vodka
  • 0.5 oz Butterscotch Liqueur
  • 3 oz Apple Cider

Optional Garnishes

  • Sugar in the Raw
  • Caramel Sauce

This caramel apple martini recipe pulls in vanilla flavors, bright crisp apple flavors wrapped in the warmth of a butterscotch liqueur . Butterscotch liqueur is very bold, but brings smooth flavors of browned butter, caramelized sugar, and molasses. As such, I recommend the following garnishes to compliment this martini:

The quality of your vodka can really elevate your Caramel Apple Martini. Whether you prefer crisp and clean or something with a hint of sweetness, here are some of my favorites:

  • Smirnoff Vanilla Vodka – This is my personal favorite for this recipe. Smirnoff Vanilla Vodka is a budget-friendly option with rich vanilla flavor and a smooth finish. It enhances the dessert-like qualities of a Caramel Apple Martini, making it creamier and more indulgent without being overly sweet.
  • Tito’s Handmade Vodka – This vodka is smooth and gluten-free! Tito’s has a clean finish that lets the apple and caramel flavors shine.
  • Ketel One – This vodka is crafted in copper pot stills, and offers a balanced/silky texture that works well with both tart green apple and sweet caramel.

This drink seems amazing! I like a combination of apples and caramel sauce. I drink martini from time to time, and I will make this cocktail next time.
