Spring is almost here, so brunch season is in full bloom! This is your guide to creating a fun, unique, Girls Day experience! In this guide we will blend the art of hosting a relaxing brunch with the joy of crafting beautiful floral bouquets. Blending these two activities together will create unforgettable memories with your closest friends.
Hosting a Brunch and Bouquet Girls Day is very easy to prepare for. In this guide, I will share easy DIY appetizers you can serve at brunch, decor inspiration, floral arrangement tips, along with planning tips and finding a great florist. So let’s get ready to host a day full of laughter, relaxation, blooms, and lasting memories.
Find a Local Florist Who Hosts Classes:
If you want to host your own Girls Day brunch while enjoying a floral making class, the first step in planning should be to find a local florist who can travel or host and teach classes. For our Girls Day Brunch and Bouquets party, we enjoyed learning from Binish, owner of CLT Bloom in Charlotte, NC. CLT Bloom is a woman owned local business that offers same day local floral delivery, and weddings/events design throughout the year! We loved Bloom CLT’s attention to detail their easy-to-follow teaching style. If you’re in the local Charlotte, NC area, you can contact then for group floral classes on their website, or email them at: charlotteweddingflowers@gmail.com
Make a Guest List:
After you find a local florist, be sure to work with them to understand if they have any class size requirements. Some florists / teachers require a minimum amount of participants in order to host the class. Once you agree on class size, you can craft your guest list and send out save the dates!
Create Invitations For Your Brunch & Bouquet Girls Day:
After selecting your guest list, create a cute Save the Date and Invitation in Canva. The colors and theme used in your invitation should hint towards the vibe you wish to have for your event! You can download and edit my invitation by signing up for Canva and requesting free access to my invitation below:

Setting the Scene:
Now that you’ve booked a class with a florist, sent out save the dates and invitations, now it’s time to gather some decor and bites to eat that will set the mood for the day! Choose a theme that resonates with the flowers that are in season or your personal style. Since spring is right around the corner, we went with light floral colors for our Girls Day.
If summer is approaching soon, have some fun and create a vibrant boozy summer day, and for fall or winter, create a more cozy atmosphere. Here are some of the items I purchased from Amazon to create a spring like atmosphere for the serving table:
You should also take care to create an easy-to-serve / grab brunch spread for your girls. Nothing too fork intensive since they will be using their hands a lot while making their bouquets.
Be creative and arrange a beautiful brunch spread with a mix of fruit, savory, and sweet options, accompanied by a selection of refreshing beverages and your favorite wines! I love serving the wine by Charles Woodson’s Intercept Wines since their collection of wines have well-balanced profiles, perfect for everyone’s wine preferences. You could also create a cute mini mimosa bar with a variety of fruit juices for your girls as well!
As far as food, keep it cute and simple! For our brunch, I served chicken and waffles by simply buying pre-made Mini Eggo Waffles from the freezer section in the grocery store, then I placed a Chick-Fil-A nugget on top, and garnished it with a small leaf of parsley. The parsley really makes this small bite pop in your mouth!
Another simple yet yummy food idea is serving berry pancakes! To make this item, I simply purchased ready-made Mini Eggo Waffle pancakes from the freezer section as well. Stack around three at a time, garnish with a berry, and dust with powdered sugar. These are so cute and easy to enjoy!
For the waffle and pancake syrup, I also provided mini bottles of syrup for each girl to grab. These are adorable, and add a nice touch of detail for your girls to enjoy!
For some of my savory items, I placed hash browns and bacon into nice serving cups, and provided mini lemon poppy muffins!
And of course, no brunch would be complete without a fruit tray, or charcuterie board of some kind. I recommend selecting fruits with a variety of colors, and contrasting these to make the tray pop for your guests.
We decided to eat brunch before making our bouquets, but some of us still munched as we were working on our floral arrangement throughout the class. So grab-and-go is the best option for this type of event.
The star of our food table was the ice bucket mold I created for the white wine. This mold turned out so beautiful, and it’s sooo easy to make. Here are 3 tips I recommend when creating your own ice mold:
- Select a Variety of Flower Colors – Select a variety of flower colors to really make the mold pop and match your theme! I also added a few lemon slices to give it a more springy feel.
- Boil Your Water – If you boil the water, let it cool, then pour it into your mold, your ice mold will come out more clear. If you use water that is not boiled, the mold with look foggy, making it difficult to see the flowers within.
- Run Your Mold Under Water – When you’re ready to pull your ice bucket mold out for display, simply run it under lukewarm water to loosen the ice. The one I ordered from Amazon was very easy to work with:

Elevate your next brunch event with this cute ice mold from Amazon! I love this mold because the stand is clear, and melts beautifully throughout the event, leaving a beautiful fountain of melted ice for guests to admire!
Floral Workshop:
After enjoying a delightful brunch, it’s time to transition into the main event—the floral workshop. Be sure to work with your florist and create a dedicated space with an assortment of fresh blooms, greenery, and all the essential tools.
The florist we worked with at Bloom CLT was wonderful since she selected flowers that were in season and complimented our spring theme. The variety of florals selected was very diverse, which allowed everyone’s creativity to shine through!
Our workspace consisted of vases, shears, ribbons, a rose stripper and chicken wire! I learned so many life hacks from this one class! Some tips I will live by moving forward thanks to Binish and her experience are:
Floral Arrangement Tips:
- Use Chicken Wire – Have you noticed everyone on TikTok or Instagram recommends using tape to create a grid at the top to arrange your florals? Well I’ve tried this trick and it’s so annoying! The tape does not always stick if the vase is wet, and you have to use the right type of tape. And forget it if you have to change the water in your vase every 2-3 days. To make the florals well-rounded and easy to arrange, Binish our teacher recommends using chicken wire, balled into a ball. Not only is this eco-friendly, but it allows you to reuse it over and over again!
- Clean Your Stems Faster with Rose Strippers – So I was today years old when I discovered how amazing rose strippers are! With one easy pull, this tool allows your to easily strip the stem of unwanted leaves and small branches. So easy and useful!
- Cut at a 45 Degree Angle – We learned the importance of cutting at a 45 degree angel to allow the florals to absorb more water.
- Remove Leaves from Hydrangea Flowers – Binish taught us that hydrangeas are very thirsty plants. As such, you should try to remove as many of the leaves as possible from these plants so they do not wilt so quickly.
- Arrange in Designs of 3 – As we were working with the roses, we learned the importance of arranging roses in designs of three. This creates symmetry and catches the eye.
- Create Negative Space in the Middle – Our instructor also taught us that creating negative space in the middle of a floral arrangement creates interest. We should tier our arrangements and maintain interest at different heights.
Throughout the class, encourage each guest to embrace their unique style as they arrange their bouquets. The instructor can provide a brief tutorial or let the creativity flow freely. This hands-on activity not only adds a personalized touch to your Girls Day, but it also leaves everyone with a tangible memory to take home.
Showcase Your Floral Arrangements!
Throughout your class, be sure to capture each memory and different bonding moments with photos and videos, which will accumulate into a visual diary for your girls to remember their day by. Once your bouquets are complete, showcase them by taking photos together.

You can even be creative and have a mini show-and-tell where each girl can share what inspired her creation, her favorite flowers, or the symbolism behind her arrangement. Sharing these simple details will draw each person closer to one another, creating an intimate, lasting memory of your day together.
Provide Take Home Care Tips:
Our florist was kind enough to provide us with little take-home cards that outlined easy-to-follow flower care tips. This can come in very handy for those of us who do not have a green thumb! If your florist does not offer these, below is a photo of our if you want to make your own:
So step outside the box, and host a unique brunch experience for you and your girls with flowers! If you’re a bride-to-be, this is an excellent way to spend the afternoon with your bridesmaids. If you want to do something with your mother, this could make for a great mommy / daughter day as well. By following this guide, you will have all the inspiration you need to design a floral atmosphere, serve delicious bites to eat, and leave the day with beautiful bouquet, because every woman deserves her flowers!
