Nothing sets the tone for the day better than a healthy and easy green smoothie recipe! I’m not a huge fan of bitter or bland tasting smoothie recipes. So to sweeten things up a bit, I decided to add pineapple, mango, spinach, and a superfood supplement called – Smarter Greens for extra vitamins and nutrients.

I recently started adding superfood supplements to my smoothies so I can reach my weight loss goals and enjoy all of the nutritional benefits of superfood greens! After some research, I learned that Smarter Greens has 40 superfood ingredients, including 37 fruits and veggies each scoop!

  • Texture & Temperature Matter: Use a variety of fruits and vegetables for well blended textures. Adding frozen fruits / vegetables or ice cubes allow you to serve your smoothie cold. To achieve a creamier texture, use ingredients such as yogurt or avocado.
  • Use Fresh Ingredients: If possible, always use fresh produce and ripe fruits for the best nutritional value and flavor, similar to this recipe or my pineapple spinach smoothie recipe.

  • Liquid Base: Choose a liquid base like water, coconut water, almond milk, or juice to blend the ingredients smoothly. Careful to not add too much liquid as this could make your smoothie turn out thin and runny.
  • Add Protein: Try to incorporate healthy protein sources like Greek yogurt, nut butter, or whey protein powder to make the smoothie more filling and nutritious. Nut butters are also a great way to add healthy fats.
  • Sweeten Naturally: Use natural sweeteners like bright fruits such as bananas, pineapples, apples, mango, melons and more. If you do not wish to use as much fruit, you could also achieve a sweet green smoothie recipe by using honey or agave syrup instead of refined sugars.

This sounds delicious! I love tropical-flavored anything. Although I’ve been reading lately that bananas shouldn’t be mixed in a fruit smoothie so I need to do more research about that.
