Growing up in the south, cream-style corn was always a family favorite. Especially taking fresh corn off the cob, shucking it together, and making a flavorful dish that is savory, yet sweet. Below is our family homemade recipe. I recommend using fresh corn if you can, but if not, frozen will work well too. Hope you enjoy!

Low Country Cream Style Corn
Ingredients
- 1 10 oz package of frozen yellow corn kernels , (recommended: use fresh corn off the cob if possible instead)
- 1 10 oz package of frozen white corn kernels
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup milk
- 3 tbsp flour
- 3 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/3 cup freshly grated parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Combine milk, heavy cream, and flour in a bowl and whisk together. Once combined, set aside.
- Take a skillet, and place it over medium heat. Add butter into your pan and melt. Once your butter is melted, add your white and yellow corn kernels, and top with sugar, salt, and pepper. Stir.
- Once you have combined your corn mixture, slowly stir and pour in your flour, milk, and heavy cream mixture. Continue to stir until your mixture has reached the desired texture of thickness. Add salt and pepper to taste.
- Remove from heat and add in your freshly grated parmesan until cheese is melted. Enjoy!

Yay! This is one of the things my mom used to make. She passed away last February and I really miss her home cooked meals. I am going to try your recipe. It would bring back so many memories of my childhood.
