This rośe lemon drop martini recipe is a chic twist to the classic lemon drop martini. Unlike the traditional lemon drop martini, this recipe uses a smooth vodka that’s rosé infused, which creates a light floral balance to this citrus forward drink. This is the perfect rosé cocktail to serve for girls’ night, spring brunches, bridal showers, or even national rosé day!

Rosé vodka is one of my favorite vodkas to use for floral based drinks. It is smooth, light, and slightly fruity, which are the same notes found in a rosé wine.

Rosé Vodka Flavor Profile:

  • Lightly sweet: Similar to rosé wine, this vodka flavor is not sugary, but has a soft natural sweetness.
  • Fruity & floral: If you try this vodka on the rocks, you will taste subtle notes like strawberry, raspberry, or watermelon. Some of my friends can taste rose or hibiscus as well.
  • Crisp finish: This vodka flavor has a clean, refreshing, and slightly dry finish.

The best way to serve this rosé cocktail is shaken, strained and chilled. I recently served this martini in bulk at my Cuvée and Corks party and forgot to shake and serve it over ice. Although good, the vodka flavors were much stronger and not as smooth. One of my guest named it the “Pretty Pink Poison” due to its strong notes and character! 🙂 So don’t make the same mistake I made, carefully serve this drink using the following tips:

1. Use a Chilled Coupe or Martini Glass

  • Why: Serving this martini in a cold glass keeps the cocktail crisp longer, which will result in a refreshing experience.

2. Rim the Glass with Sugar and Edible Roses

  • Why: The sugar rim not only looks beautiful, but it balances the lemon flavor of this cocktail. For additional appeal, I crushed edible roses in the sugar for additional texture and floral notes upon drinking.

3. Shake with Ice and Strain

  • Why: This rosé cocktail is meant to be served “up”, which means it should be shaken with ice but strained into a glass without ice. This keeps the lemon and rosé flavors concentrated and clean.

4. Use a Good Quality Triple Sec

  • Why: The perfect lemon drop martini deserves the best ingredients. Using a cheap triple sec will cause your drink to taste overly sugary, artificial, and synthetic. A high-quality orange liqueur like Cointreau or Combier will leave a balanced subtle orange flavor.

5. Garnish with Lemon Twists or Edible Flowers

  • Why: Garnishing this rosé cocktail with a floral sugar rim, or a nice lemon twist adds fragrance and a pop of color. For a more spring or floral twist, you can include edible flowers, rose buds, or an edible hibiscus flower to make the color appear more pink. It truly creates a “wow” moment for photos or guests.

The rose vodka with a lemon twist sounds so refreshing, especially this time of year. I definitely want to try making this drink; it sounds like it has less sugar, too. Cheers!

We had a girls’ night out last Saturday, and they loved this. Thank you for sharing this guide. We weren’t able to fully follow your presentation, but we will work on that next time. I am yet to find edible roses.
