Follow these simple steps for the best baked turkey wings. Your wings will turn out juicy, seasoned to perfection, and baked until bone tender.

STEP 1: Preheat and Prep – Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Pat the turkey wings dry with a paper towel and let them come to room temperature for 15–20 minutes to ensure even cooking and crispy skin. Lightly coat a casserole dish or baking dish with a bit of vegetable oil to prevent sticking. Chop all veggies – celery, onion, green bell pepper, and parsley. Set aside.

STEP 2: Season the Wings – In a large mixing bowl, combine garlic powder, onion powder, seasoned salt, ground sage, thyme, and Adobo seasoning. Toss the wings until coated in an even dry rub, massaging both sides to lock in flavor. Add chopped celery, onion, green bell pepper, and parsley to the dish, spreading everything into an even layer.

For a golden finish, remove the foil and roast uncovered for 10–15 minutes, or broil on the lowest setting until the skin side turns crisp.   • Storing Leftovers: Let your baked turkey wings cool completely before storing. Place them in an airtight container along with a little of their gravy or own juices to keep them moist. Store in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. 
  • Freezing: To freeze, place the wings and gravy in a freezer-safe bag or container, removing as much air as possible. Label with the date, and freeze for up to 3 months. When ready to enjoy, thaw overnight in the refrigerator.
  • Reheating: For best results, reheat in the oven at 300°F (150°C) in a covered baking dish until warmed through. Add a splash of chicken stock or turkey stock to revive the gravy and keep the meat juicy. If you’re short on time, you can also reheat in the microwave on medium heat in 30-second intervals, stirring the gravy between each round.

Southern Baked Turkey Wings

These oven-baked turkey wings are seasoned to perfection, baked in their own juices, and smothered in rich homemade gravy. Baked low and slow, these wings practically fall off the bone and taste even better the next day.

Ingredients 

  • 4 Turkey Wings
  • 4 stalks Celery , chopped
  • 1 cup Onion, chopped
  • 1 Green Bell Pepper, chopped
  • 1/2 cup Fresh Italian Parsley, chopped
  • 2 tbsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 1/2 tbsp Seasoned Salt
  • 1 tbsp Onion Powder
  • 1 tsp Ground Sage
  • 1 tsp Ground Thyme
  • 2 cups Water
  • 1 tsp Adobo Seasoning
  • 4 tbsp All Purpose Flour

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C)
  • Remove turkey wings from package, wash, dry, and place in a casserole dish. Chop all fresh ingredients (celery, onion, green bell pepper, and parsley) and sprinkle these throughout your casserole dish as well.
  • Sprinkle in seasoned salt, garlic powder, onion powder, ground sage, and ground thyme. Show some love and rub these seasonings into both sides of your wings and your fresh ingredients.
  • Separately, take your 2 cups of water and add 1 tsp of Adobo seasoning, and 4 tbsp of All Purpose Flour. Stir these ingredients together to create the base for your gravy. Once mixed, pour this mixture into your casserole dish. Cover your casserole dish with Aluminum foil.
  • Bake your wings for 2.5 hours in the oven. Once your wings are almost done, remove the foil and continue to bake without the foil if you would like your wings to brown a bit more. Enjoy!

    Great recipe ! Only thing I changed was cooking the turkey for an hr on a dry rub then I mixed the flour with 1.5 of water mixed with chicken bouillon. I turned it twice and basted the turkey drums while so, came out so flavorful and tender after 2hrs at 375F.
