Ingredients

  • 1 12-inch prepared pizza dough
  • 8 oz Ground Beef
  • 1 oz Taco Seasoning Packet
  • ½ tsp Adobo Seasoning
  • cup Taco Sauce
  • cup Sour Cream
  • ¼  cup Cherry Tomatoes chopped
  • 4 oz Mild Green Chilies chopped
  • ½ cup Shredded Iceberg Lettuce
  • 1 cup Mozzarella
  • 1 cup Shredded Mexican Style Cheese

Instructions

  • Wash and chop all pizza toppings. Preheat your oven to 500°F (260°C). Drizzle a little olive oil onto your pizza pan and spread it evenly to grease the surface. This helps the dough crisp up and prevents it from sticking when you slice later. Place your prepared pizza dough on the pan and pre-bake (par-bake) for about 5 minutes, just until it starts to brown. This quick step gives you that deliciously crispy crust at the end of this recipe.
  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess grease. As beef is cooking, add taco seasoning and Adobo, plus a splash of water if needed. Stir to coat and cook until done.
  • Take par-baked pizza dough and spread a thin layer of taco sauce as the base (like pizza sauce). Then top with mozzarella. Afterwards add the cooked taco meat and chopped onions evenly over the dough followed by Mexican-style cheese.
  • Bake for 8–10 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly and the pizza crust is golden brown. While pizza is baking, take a small bowl and mix together 1/3 cup of sour cream and 1 tbsp of taco sauce. This will be your pizza topping.
  • Once baked, top with chopped lettuce, cherry tomatoes, green chilies, and your sour cream mixture. Add any extra favorite taco toppings you love such as black olives, green onion, cilantro, or refried beans on the side. Cut into slices and enjoy!

Notes

  • Crispy Crust Tip: Pre-baking the pizza crust for a few minutes before adding toppings helps create a crispier texture.
  • Topping Variations: Customize your taco pizza with black beans, jalapeños, avocado, diced tomatoes, or your favorite taco toppings.
  • Cheese Options: Cheddar, Monterey Jack, pepper jack, or a Mexican cheese blend all work well in this recipe.
  • Protein Variations: Ground turkey or shredded chicken can easily be substituted for ground beef.
  • Serving Suggestion: Finish with shredded lettuce, sour cream, salsa, or crushed tortilla chips for extra flavor and texture.
  • Storage: Store leftover taco pizza in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Reheating: Reheat in the oven or air fryer for the best texture and a crispier crust.
  • Freezing: Taco pizza can be frozen after baking. Wrap slices tightly and freeze for up to 2 months.
