Milk and Milk Alternatives For Iced Lattes
The best kind of milk for an iced latte truly depends on your own personal preference and dietary preferences. This iced rose oatmilk latte recipe is perfect if you want to drink dairy-free lattes, and enhance your everyday regular coffee. Below are a few options if you want a different milk mixture besides oat milk:
- Whole Milk: Will provide a rich, creamy texture since it’s heavier in fat. Whole milk will have a slightly sweet flavor and foams very well when a milk frother is used.
- 2% Milk: Is a great option is you wish to have a creamy texture, without as much fat. 2% Milk is a popular choice for lattes since provides just enough fat without sacrificing flavor.
- Oat Milk: Oat milk is my personal favorite and a very popular non-dairy option for iced lattes. Oat milk, although dairy-free still has a sweet creamy texture. It’s also a great option for those with nut allergies.
- Almond Milk: Almond milk is another great dairy-free option. It carries a subtle nutty flavor that pairs well with coffee. However, you will find this option is not as creamy as milk and oat milk.
- Soy Milk: Soy milk is the original popular non-dairy favorite amongst latte drinkers. Soy milk provides a good amount of creaminess that will not take away from the floral notes in this coffee.
- Coconut Milk: Is a bright, sweet, creamy option that adds a subtle tropical flare to lattes.
Tips for the perfect iced rosed latte
- Use filtered water for brewing your coffee or espresso, it truly makes a difference in flavor.
- Froth the rose syrup into your milk before adding ice and coffee. The frothing action awakens the rose flavors in this coffee.
- Adjust syrup amount to taste: 2 oz for a light floral hint, 3 oz for a bolder rose flavor.
- Make it fancy by garnishing edible dried rose petals at the top of the latte.
- Store rose syrup in an airtight container in the fridge so it’s always on hand for lattes, cocktails, or desserts.

This is the first time I’ve heard of a Rose syrup, so I’m not sure what it is. But I’m curious to taste this. I shall scourge the web and our supermarkets for this as this is not common in stores in the PH.
